How to improve creative thinking

Share your thoughts with your family and friends, even with strangers.  Listen to their problems and brainstorm the possible solutions.  Their suggestions may help you to improve your state of mind or you may learn from their problems instead.

For instance, I came up with my business idea while I was listening to a random person’s problems whilst on my holiday.  I thought about the market then created a business to fill the gap.

Another way to improve creative thinking could be watching the news, reading the paper and work out how to solve problems.

Always remember these quotes from Einstein below:

“The important thing is to not stop questioning”- Creative thinking requires asking questions.

“Curiosity has its own reason” -Creative people want to learn, discover and improve things.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity” -Creative people always think about finding a solution for difficulties.

Put your positive success ideas in to action

Do you dream of success but held back by pathetic reasons? Do you come up with excuses such as: it is not the right time yet? It might be your financial situation, or family issues or the recession…. Or maybe it is just YOU and the way YOU think. If you wait for the perfect conditions to turn your dreams into reality, it may never come up.

Let’s continue with a real life example…  J.K. Rowling, the writer of Harry Potter, is the 12th richest woman in Great Britain now. She had a dream of becoming a writer but went though some bad times. Her marriage failed and she had to live on benefits with her daughter. But soon she had realized that she had a few things which no human being can take away from her: her health, her daughter, an old typewriter and a big idea. She wrote in cafes while her daughter was asleep; she never gave up or waiting for the right time to take an action and she never came up with excuses. As a result, her ambition made her the writer of the phenomenal Harry Potter series.

  1. Be honest with yourself, stop and think about what you have been doing and stop non-productive actions and wrong decision making. Don’t regret but learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them.
  2. Think about what is expected from you and what you need to do to achieve or reach the expectations.
  3. State your long-term goals and revise them regularly to see whether you are going in the right direction.
  4. Ask yourself questions: Do you continually improve your skills, wisdom and experience?
  5. Use your time effectively, the past never comes back.
  6. Be responsible for your actions.
  7. Reward yourself for your successes and achievements. It could be something very little like treating yourself with a good meal or theatre, or with a proper holiday!!

The Power of Positive Thinking: Some Tips

Being positive in life is very refreshing and rewarding. It can change your life from dark to light. It is important to see that life is fun and is not all about doom and gloom. Lots of things happen in our life: relationships, family issues, careers, health concerns and so on. There are always good things to think about to escape misery and negative thought.

Here are some tips for positive thinking:

  1. Remember that you can rule your emotions, do not let them rule you. Believe in yourself; realize that only you have the strength to turn the negative into positive looking at the things just a bit differently.
  2. Be thankful and grateful of what you have achieved instead of looking at the things you haven’t.
  3. Surround yourself with happy, positive people.  People who think negatively and always are moody can darken your mood.
  4. Exercise: go to a yoga retreat and take on a meditation class to learn how to be positive. Follow a balanced diet to be healthy and energetic all the time.
  5. Speak positively to yourself, be your own friend and encourage yourself.
  6. Don’t take the life so seriously, always smile, see the bright side of life and enjoy being with your family, job, being healthy and friends
  7. Be a volunteer for a good cause. Then you will realize that there are many people who have bigger problems than you do. Helping others is such a satisfying feeling to help lift up your spirit.
  8. See potential for happiness in everything.
  9. Stay outdoors, interact with people. Keep your blinds open to take the advantage of the daylight. Dark rooms might affect your mood negatively.
  10. Do not ignore the improvements in your life. Celebrate them with the people you feel good with.
